Katherine E Weber

March 27, 1927 — February 14, 2018

Indianapolis, Indiana

Katherine E. Weber, 90 years old, went home to God on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018 and is reunited with the love of her life Marion R. Weber. Kay was born on March 27, 1927 to Lawrence S. Eaton and G. Alliene (Smith) Eaton.

Kay was very independent, fun loving and a hard worker through her entire life. She had her own business, Secretarial Service, for about the last 25 year of her work life until she retired at 80.

Kay suffered the loss of two children, her second born son, Gregory Evan, to Leukemia when he was seven years old and her third born daughter, Darleen Kay, at age 57.

Kay is survived by her sister, Josephine Fisher and her brother, Kenneth Eaton; her oldest son, Robert Weber; her youngest daughter, Cynthia Turner; grandchildren by age, Harold Evan Jackson; Hillary Dawn Jackson; Erin Elizabeth Ralston; Heather Nichole Jackson; and Megan Ann Turner; great grandchildren by age, Jalynn Rae Ralston; Leo Raymond James Short; and Dilynn Jae Ralston. Kay loved having family around her on Sunday afternoons.

Kay loved to bake and made beautiful cakes for all the family celebrations. She loved to dance, on Saturdays when she was cleaning she would turn on her record player and dance. If you walked passed you would be pulled in to boogie with her around the room. Kay played the piano, the electric organ and hand bells at church. Kay crocheted afghans, doll clothes, table clothes, and once she actually crocheted doll furniture.

Kay was very involved in church, she was the church secretary, sang in choir, played the bells and was a long time member of a church group from Capital Avenue United Methodist called the Golden Links. She was a Girl Scout; was involved with Indian Guides and Boy Scouts; and Little League Base ball.  Kay had a passion for bowling; winner of several trophies and usually belonged to at least two leagues.

Kay Weber was a very strong and independent woman, who raised four children, suffered great loss, loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. She was most remarkable in all that she did in life.

Kay will be missed! Love you Mom!

Her family and friends will celebrate her life with visitation on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm and services on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11 am at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple.  Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
