Karla K. Shone

Karla K. Shone, 76, of Sheridan, passed away on June 13, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN, and was adopted by Chester and Anna (Kaltwasser) Burns. Karla graduated from Arsenal Technical High School with the Class of 1964, and attended Purdue University.

Karla led many successful business ventures as a florist and interior designer. She was the owner and operator of Village House Florist and Design Studio and KANDL, Inc Her life-long design career was hallmarked by publication in Architectural Digest Magazine. She served a term as Regional President of the American Society of Interior Designers. Karla was a master gardener and enjoyed caring for horses. She had an active social life and was engaged in various charity events through a local polo group. She was also a supporter of the St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee Lewin-Williams, of Huntington, WV, and Tiffany Mullen, of Zionsville, IN, and five grandchildren, Jamie Lewin, Emily Williams, Noah Williams, Cassidy Spencer, and Clover Hay, and her sister, Mary Ann Troxel, of Greenfield, IN.

Karla is also survived by her long-time companion Ronald R. Marburger and his children, Kim (Mitch), Kevin (Michele), Kelly (Tom) and his grandchildren, Connor (Anna), Brittany, Ashley (Jacob), Aurelia, Beckett, Xander, and Quentin.

Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm with services beginning at 1pm on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters) located at 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062.
