Karen Kay (Strough)Burkett, 65, of Indianapolis, IN passed away February 2,2017. Karen was born November 4, 1951 inIndianapolis the daughter of the late Jack D. and Virginia Lee (Gardner)Strough. She was a graduate of LawrenceCentral High School and of Methodist Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, American Society of Radiologic Technologist and of the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologist. She had worked at Castleton Orthopedic Clinic and The Center for Advanced Orthopedic Surgery as an RT and for Radiation Services of Indiana as a sales representative.She was a member of St. Lawrence CatholicChurch and a very accomplished artist. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Julie AnnMorris in 2005.
Karen is survived by herhusband of 45 years, Joseph R. Burkett; her daughter, Lynn Marie Mistler;grandchildren, Kaylynn Joanna and Zoey Lee Morris, Julie Elizabeth “Liz” andLandon Matthew Mistler; sisters, Linda Louise Brown and Lisa Louciel Ingram;brothers, Rex Harry Strough and Jay Dee Strough; and sister-in-law, Anne Fritz.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 7:00PM until 9:00 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E.Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 6944 E. 46thStreet, Indianapolis, IN 46226. Burial in Washington Park EastCemetery-Cumberland Trails.
