K. Philip Simmons

K. Philip Simmons passed away on April 29, 2020 at the age of 83. Phil was born in Crichton, West Virginia on February 27, 1937 to parents, M.K. and Orpha (Crosby) Simmons.  He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, KY during the Cold War. Phil worked sales in the graphic arts field for most of his career. He also enjoyed his time working in the tool department for Lowe’s Noblesville store. 

Phil is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Ellen (Webb) Simmons; children: Stephanie (Doug) Winter and John (Kathy) Simmons; grandchildren: Alexis, Serena and Haley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. 

Phil enjoyed woodworking, reading, and spending time with his three granddaughters. There was never a time Phil wasn’t laughing or making jokes. His witty sense of humor and kindness to all will be deeply missed by those who knew him. 

Once restrictions on gatherings are lifted, a memorial service in Phil’s honor will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis.
