Junior R. Knoy, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Junior was born to the late Ad and Nellie Knoy in Greene County, Indiana on March 15, 1923. After High School, Junior went on to work a long term for the United States Navy during World War II sailing on the USS Virgo as well as the USS Kula Gulf. Junior received a WWII Victory Metal for his services. Upon his honorable separation from the US Navy, Junior went on to marry his devoted and loving wife of 65 years, Patty Knoy. He worked at Western Electric for several years as a telephone manufacturer, where he would eventually retire. Junior also became active as a Mason during his lifetime. No matter how busy Junior was with work or Fraternal organizations, he always had plenty of time to be by his beloved Patty’s side and make sure he always pumped the gas for her car and opened the doors for her.
Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Ad and Nellie Knoy; three brothers, Charles, Floyd, and Hobert Knoy and four sisters; Katherine Knoy, Dovie Rollison, Lucille New, Ioma Neill. He is survived by his wife, Patty Knoy, sister, Josephine Pickard and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 12pm with a visitation period beginning at 10am. A Masonic ceremony will begin before the Service at 11:30am.
