Judy Elaine Mcentire

Judy Elaine McEntire, 70, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on October 4, 2019. She was born July 14, 1949 to John and Faye Baumgardner; she was one of 12 children.

Though born in Greencastle, Indiana, Judy spent her formative years in Kentucky. She returned to Indiana as a teenager in 1966. She met the love of her life, Roy McEntire, when she was only 12 years old, though the two wouldn’t reconnect until they shared a date in Brown County, Indiana in 1968. The rest is history. They were married just a few short months later on July 27, 1968 and spent 51 beautiful years together raising their three children; they remain deeply in love at the time of her passing. Judy was an amazing wife and mother; she always made sure her family was cared for. She enjoyed their family weekends where they’d go camping, fishing, or bowling; she loved traveling, especially to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. As long as she was with her family she was happy as she truly enjoyed the simple things in life. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet her; she was truly one of a kind.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, John Baumgardner and Faye Sharp; and siblings, Billy and Lueda. Surviving to cherish her memory are loving husband of 51 years, Roy McEntire; children, Roy (Shelly) McEntire Jr, Michael (Debbi) McEntire, and Marsha Trejo; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Johnny, Glenda, Barbara, Violet, Florence, Zuella, Anna, and Sandy; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

All are welcome to attend a memorial celebration on Saturday, October 12 from 10-2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. A memorial service will take place at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Judy’s honor to Riley Children’s Hospital.
