Judy E. Proffitt Gregory

Judy E. Proffitt Gregory, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away at her home on December 17, 2018.  Judy was born on December 1, 1945 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky to Lemon J. Proffitt and Delta Mae Proffitt.  Judy married Clifton Murray in the fall of 1962, and she became a young widow six months later.  Judy married her beloved husband, Clifford R. Gregory, on June 24, 1966.   Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Proffitt, her sister and best friend, Reva Joyce Bussberg, and beloved niece Pam Laws.  She is survived by brothers Willis Proffitt and Wallace Proffitt of Kentucky.  Though Cliff and Judy never had children of their own, they have loved and been loved by so many, including but not limited to:  Luke Nalker (Godson), Kori Nalker Siebert (Mike) (Goddaughter), dear friends and neighbors Phil and Robin Paul, several “favorite nieces”  Ruth Ann Bolt, Laverne Pike, Sharon Layman, Tina Perry, Denice Story and Alissa Proffitt, “grandchildren by heart” Shelbi McConnell (Garrett), PJ Paul, and Elana Siebert.  She was also “great Nana” to Stoshu McConnell and Marek McConnell.  Judy loved the Lord with all of her heart and was an active member of Mars View Christian Church since December of 1975.  She loved the University of Kentucky Wildcats, and was the proud recipient of a brand-new heart the day before her 71^st birthday.   Judy lived her life to the fullest and brought joy to the lives of many with her infectious smile and kind spirit.  Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 12 to 2 pm with services at 2 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township.   The family requests no flowers or gifts, but encourages memorial contributions to Mars View Christian Church, the American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
