Judy Ann Manuel

Judy Ann (Hall) Manuel of New Palestine, IN passed away on May 27, 2021 at the age of 73.

She was born August 25, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late James “Buck” G. Hall Sr and Juanita E. (Floerke) Hall.

She attended Arsenal Tech High School and graduated in 1965.  She married the love of her life, Garland J. Manuel Sr.  In the 4^th grade, Garland told Judy he was going to marry her, and Judy said he was crazy. They were happily married for nearly 52 years.

During high school, Judy and Garland worked at Powell’s Grocery on the eastside of Indianapolis where Garland was a butcher at the meat counter, and Judy was a cashier.

They lived in Indianapolis until 1977 when they relocated to New Palestine to raise their family. Judy also worked as an operator at Indiana Bell and in customer service at Kohls before she became a full-time homemaker in 1991 after the birth of her second son.

Judy and Garland were very active members of the New Palestine United Church until his passing.

Judy’s hobbies included reading, playing solitaire on the computer, baking, cooking, and crocheting.  She had a great love for animals.

Judy was a caring wife and mother and was very devoted to her family. She was known for having many joys in life but found the most joy spending quality time with her sons, grandson, family, and close friends.

She is survived by her sons Garland “G.J.” J. (Nikki) Manuel, Sr. and Zachary “Zach” T. (Syndi) Manuel; grandson Chase E. Manuel; brothers James (Nancy) Hall, Jr. and Jeffrey (Vickye) Hall; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Garland J. Manuel, Sr. and her parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 2 from 9-11 AM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.  Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
