Judith "Judy" A Means

Judith (Judy) Ann Means of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on June 21, 2022 at the age of 82.  She passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side.

Judy was born to Ralph and Pearl Walker. She is survived by her two daughters, Kelly Newman and Kimberly Newman, her step son, Jeff Means, two step-grandchildren Catherine (Means) Herford and Andy Means, as well as her bother, Martin (Skip) Walker.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Pearl Walker, brothers, Jerome, Douglas and Paul Walker, sisters Lorena Davis, Martha Mates and Jerretta May, as well as two husbands, David L. Newman and Thomas M. Means.  She was cherished by all of her seven older siblings.

Judy married David Newman on May 7, 1960. They were blessed with two loving daughters, Kelly and Kimberly. He was a kind and loving husband and father. After a long battle with cancer, sweet David passed on October 18, 1985.

Judy married Tom Means, December 6, 1986 in Irvington Presbyterian Church.  They traveled extensively and had a wonderful life together.  Tom passed September 21, 2011 from natural causes.

Judy was greatly adored by each husband. She loved them both dearly.

Judy gave so much light and love to many and had a wonderful sense of humor. She could light up a room. Judy was very kind, caring and always doing things for others. She was passionate about family, friends, animals, antiquing, shopping, decorating, baking, cleaning, crafting and music.  In other words, she was the ultimate homemaker and exceptional mother. Judy definitely made this world a better place.

The visitation will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 from 11 till 1 PM. A funeral service immediately following the visitation beginning at 1 o’clock. All will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Judy will be laid to rest at Washington Park is cemetery.
