Judith D. Sachs

Judith D. (Giltner) Sachs, 78 of Carmel, passed away on March 12, 2017. She was born on May 7, 1938 in Indianapolis, to the late Wallace E. and Burl R. Giltner.

Judy graduated from Lawrence Central High School. She was a member of PrimeLife Enrichment in Carmel, where she was an active member of the history and writing groups. Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and gardening.

Judy was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Fred A. Sachs; her daughter, Joanie L. Porteous; and her brother, Richard L. Giltner. Judith is survived by her sons, Timothy D. (Tammy) Sachs and Christopher M. Sachs; her granddaughter, Teagan Sachs; her sister, Jeannie L. LaRue; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, with the service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Riley Hospital, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
