Judith (Thompson) Hancock, 76, of Sheridan, Indiana, passed away on August 7, 2023, due to respiratory complications after open heart surgery.
Judy was born on March 25, 1947, to Thelma (Midge) and Hugh (Tommy) Thompson in Indianapolis, Indiana. Judy retired from St. Vincent Hospital after 42 years of service. She was a long-time member of Big Springs Community Church. She loved the Lord and her church family very much. She wanted everyone to know Jesus. She had a large, loving family that she always looked forward to having over at holidays and any chance she could get. She was known for her loving ways and warm smile. She was always ready to help; her door was always open. Her love for God’s creatures was apparent. She would always share pictures of all the critters on her property. She even had her grandson set up trail cams for her. She also had two beloved golden retrievers, Bailey and Bear, that brought her great joy. The time that she spent with her two grandsons was even more precious and joyful.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael Thompson, brother, James Thompson, mother, Midge Thompson, and father, Tommy Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Thurman (Jason). Grandsons, Jacob and Samuel Thurman. Siblings, Bob Thompson (Evelyn), Janet Conwell (Steve), Daniel Thompson (Cindy), and Sarah Fuller (Thurman). Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family requests that it be made to Big Springs Community Church.
