Judith Ann Brown Nieman, 80, of Greenwood passed away November 26, 2019.
She was born June 3, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Floyd and Leota Maude (Hardin) Brown. She attended Arsenal Tech High School. After college, she went on to work for GM where she worked as a secretary until the birth of her daughter Marianne.
She married Robert Allen Nieman in 1963, and Marianne was born to them in 1979.
After her daughter was born, she left the workforce to care for her daughter, as well as her mother whom she cared for until she passed after a long battle with Alzheimers. She even helped build their home on Arlington in the mid 70’s where she would care for her family. Always known to be an ultimate hostess, Judy was also the mom acting as the chauffeur for Marianne and her friends taking them to many events no matter how far the distance.
Judy loved to travel. She was on the first PanAm flight to Europe out of Indianapolis in the early 1960’s. She also loved music. She was obsessed with Willie Nelson. A dog lover, she had many dogs through the years but her most memorable was her baby Eli. She was very dedicated to her family and was very close to her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for making everyone feel welcome and for her contagious smile.
She is survived by daughter Marianne Nieman; brothers Kenny Brown (Ellen) and Butch Brown (Donna); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Nieman in January 2019 and her brother Larry Brown.
