Judith A. Winters, 77, lifelong resident of Indianapolis, passed away November 20, 2018. She was born on September 21, 1941 to the late Harold Leroy and Helen Laverne Winters.
After completing high school at Arsenal Tech., Judy went on to work for Pratt Corporation, a printing company, for 35 years before enjoying retirement.
Judy loved to play bingo and spent her yearly vacations playing the slots in Las Vegas. She also adored animals and was known to open her home to care for them, such as the times she took in racoons or a baby pig.
Judy is survived by her beloved friend and caretaker, Sheila Higdon, as well as Sheila’s family who became her own; friends, Joe (Barb) Braunagel; grandchildren, Joshua Higdon, Jonathan (Katie) Higdon, Jessica (Austin) Grubbs; great-grandchildren, Annalee, Emma, Haylee, Adalynn, Liam, and Kylee; cousins, Marilyn Manick, James Browning, and Brenda McGuire. She is also survived by her canine companion, Minnie. Judy is preceded in death by her great-grandchild, Gracie, and longtime friend, Anita Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 11AM to 1PM with funeral services immediately following at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East with entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be may to the American Lung Association.
