Juanita Lane
90, of Indianapolis, passed away March 5, 2020. She was born on November 28, 1929 in Pennington Gap, Virginia as the daughter of Patton Stapleton and Vaughty Stewart.
Juanita lived a hard life, she only attended school to the 4th grade. When she did attend school, it was mostly on rainy days. Nicer days she spent working at her family homestead out in the fields. After moving to Indianapolis Juanita worked at Colonial Crest Nursing Home as the head cook. She was also a homemaker, a loving mother, and a loving grandmother. Juanita enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, and dancing.
Juanita is survived by her children: J. Larry (Rhonda) Stewart, Donald L. Lane, Brenda (Roger) Whited, Robert (Josie) Middleton, Stevie (Susie) Middleton, Richard Middleton, Sheila (Chuck) Dean; 16 grandkids; 32 great grandkids; and 7 great great grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William P. Lane.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 12noon-2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. A funeral service will follow at 2pm also at the funeral home.
