Joyce Marie Voelpel

Joyce Marie Burns Voelpel, 92 went to be with our Lord Jesus on December 15, 2020. She was born July 8, 1928 in the town of Shiocton, Wisconsin to loving parents Charlie and Emma Burns. Joyce’s youth was filled with fun and joy living on a farm, picking flowers from her mother’s garden, ice skating and her favorite pastime was riding her bicycle with her little brother, Bill, in the front basket.
On May 10th of 1952 Joyce married Ray Voelpel and they built a beautiful life together. Joyce was a loving wife to Ray and she flourished as a mother, nurturing and supporting her sons. Ray and Joyce enjoyed their family as well as travelling. Joyce was very involved in the Christian counseling ministry at Northview Church, Carmel, IN where she and Ray were members, they also supported multiple other ministries through the years.
Joyce is survived by her brother, William (Jan) Burns, sons, Mark (Debbie) Voelpel, David (Lisa) Voelpel and Tom Voelpel, three granddaughters, Niki Voelpel, Randi (Nathan) Larson and Megan (Taylor) Knier and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Selah Larson. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray Voelpel, their daughter lost to miscarriage, Mary and brother, Russell Burns. She has been reunited with them and we all look forward to being with her again when we also arrive in the presence of our Lord Jesus.
