Joyce F. Stepp, 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2018. She was born May 9, 1951 in Georgia to Alfred and Dottie Bray; one of 5 children.
Though born in Georgia, Joyce was a lifetime Indiana resident. She attended Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. She spent most of her life caring for others; a homemaker like most women of her generation. Joyce was an excellent mother, nana, and friend. Family remembers her as a woman who loved Betty Boop, butterflies, and dolls. It is also rumored that she made the best meatloaf and fried chicken around; recipes she’s passed down to her children and grandchildren. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Dottie Bray. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, Christine (Alan) Brown and Brad (Julie) Stepp; siblings, Shirley Burnett, Charles (Lena) Bray, Terry (Rhonda) Bray, and Allen Bray; grandchildren, Tamara, Melissa, Chelsie, Brysen, Nash, Brennan, and Bailey; great-grandchildren, Kaelynne, Kayden, Landon, Brodee, and Kenzleigh; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, December 1 from 10-12 PM at Bridgeport Central Baptist Church, 9039 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46231. Funeral Services will begin at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family (c/o Christine Brown).
