Joyce Ann Eaton

Joyce Ann Eaton, 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on September 6, 2019. She was born January 29, 1942 in London, Kentucky to John Frank Ivey and Kittie Hammons Ivey.

Joyce married the love of her life, Jack Eaton, on July 15, 1963 and spent 56 beautiful years together; they remain deeply in love at the time of her passing.  She was a wonderful mother; ever loving, giving, and would do anything to help them succeed. She loved Elvis and especially loved sitting in the backyard with her husband talking and listening to music. She was an incredibly strong woman, though stubborn. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet her; she was truly one of a kind.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jack Eaton; children, Oscar Ivey, Jackie (Troy) Dodson, Chris (Kelly) Eaton, Kathy Leathers, James (Christina) Eaton; grandchildren, Jeff, Tara, Joey, Justin, Jennifer, Brittany, Seaira, Alissa, Megan, Dylan; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Don and John; 3 sisters, Mable, Pearl, and Kathy; as well as a host of extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Kittie; grandson, Troy Dodson, Jr.; brothers, Clarence, Carl, Isaac, Larry, and Art; sisters, Rose, Edith, and Martha.

Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Funeral services will take place Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10 AM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following services.
