Josephine Bridget (Josie) Chastain

Josephine Bridget “Josie” (McGivern) Chastain, 96, of Indianapolis, IN passed away in Largo, FL on September 13, 2021.  Josie was born in Rostrevor, Northern Ireland on March 18, 1925 to parents, Daniel and Bridget (McGee) McGivern.  During her career, Josie worked as a produce clerk for Kroger Grocery Stores. Josie loved flower gardening, especially roses, and spending time with her beloved dogs on their daily walks.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Bridget; husband, Walter Earl Chastain; and siblings: James (Teresa), Katie (Willie Bracken), Annie (Willie Taylor), Mick (Sarah) and Lawrence (Winnie).

Josie will be lovingly missed by her children: Joey, Jerry (Teena), Ernie (Donna) and Cheryl Arnold (Jim); grandchildren: Kim and Gidget (Joey), Kristen and Lydia (Jerry), Josie, Jamie and Rick (Cheryl); and many great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:30am on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis).  Graveside services will immediately follow on the grounds of Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Please no flowers or gifts.
