Joseph “Joe” William Montgomery, 54, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on July 8, 2020. He was born on May 1, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Sharon (McGee) Cornish and the late Joseph Patrick Montgomery.
Joe worked at the Chrysler Corporation for many years, but he was a licensed plumber for all his adult life. He briefly worked at Carter Plumbing in Greenwood, Indiana and opened his own plumbing business, Montgomery Mechanical. He went on to do contractor work throughout Indianapolis and was working as a field superintendent for RT Moore Mechanical Contractors at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Jessica and Natalie Montgomery; mother, Sharon Cornish; aunt, Karen Elliott; sister, Dawn Montgomery; niece, Karen Montgomery; nephew Zachary Montgomery; his life partner, Marilyn Chernay and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Montgomery and his brother, Ronald Montgomery.
Joe will forever be remembered for his unconditional love and kindness. He always put his family first and would do anything and everything for the people he loved. He had a unique kind of contagious laughter that, no matter if it were your worst day, would bring a smile to your face. He truly lived his best life rocking out to U2 at Madison Square Garden with a Guinness in his hand. He was the kind of person who made sure to take every opportunity possible to make life worth living.
