Joseph "Joe" F. Talbot

Joseph F. “Joe” Talbot, 87 of Carmel, peacefully passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by the warmth of his loving family. Joe was born August 17, 1937, in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph F. Sr., and Martha O. Talbot. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 - 1959, active duty with the air police, and continued his commitment in the reserves until 1963.

Most recently, Joe found joy and purpose spending 14 years behind the wheel a school bus for the Carmel Clay Schools. Previously, he owned a real estate broker and appraisal business in Carmel. Earlier in his career, he was a senior supervisor in manufacturing.

Joe savored life far beyond professional endeavors. He valued volunteering as an active member in the Broad Ripple Sertoma Club and was recognized as a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He had a passion for golf and cherished many evenings playing bridge with friends. His love for travel, especially with family, took sail with cruises and road trips across the country.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Thursday, October 3, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 4 at 1:00 pm at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Danita; children, DJ Talbot, Brian (Rosie) Talbot, Danita Jo (Chris Parisi) Talbot, Kimberlee (Ryan) West; grandchildren, Aaron Talbot, Chrystina Belakiewicz, Allyssa Campbell, Caden Talbot, Brian Talbot, Jr., Maggie Talbot, Joe Talbot; great grandchildren, Daniel, Gwen, Mary, Mikey, Lizzie, Jack, and George; and sister, Noreen Welsh. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Joseph “JET” Talbot.
