Joseph Layne Fox, 65, rural Noblesville, died in the Community North Hospital, Indianapolis on February 16, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1957, to Virgil Fox and Wilma “Ruth” Flanigan Fox in Connersville, IN. Joe attended Cincinnati University and he loved to fish, travel, and adventure. He was a retired commercial truck driver, former member of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department where he participated on the IMPD motorcycle drill team and he previously owned a private investigation business. Joe attended the Greenville Church of Christ, Noblesville.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and his special 4 legged companion Asia.
Joe’s memory will live on with his daughters Madison Cheyenne Fox and Taylor Layne Fox, Grand Rapids, MI; brother, John Lee (Susan Veverka) Fox, rural Noblesville; nephew Jason Fox; nieces Shane (Scott) Grotjan, Hannah (Justin) Dabbelt, and Danielle (Kevin) Springsteen; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
Animals were the love on Joe’s life. In recent months he enjoyed many hours working and playing on the banks of the White River with his “adopted” dogs Henry and AJ.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life to be planned for a future date.
