It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Earl Otto II of Brownsburg, 76, on December 30, 2020.
He was born in Indianapolis on February 24, 1944 to the late Joseph Earl Otto and Ann (Rus) Otto. Joe graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1962 and served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1966 to 1969 stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. After service he received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his Master’s from Butler University. Joe worked as an engineer at Allison Transmission for 22 years retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Brookside Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. One of his many talents was photography and owned his own studio where he captured many weddings and other special events. Joe loved to find the next treasure at garage sales, antique shopping and enjoyed the outdoors as a Master Gardener.
Joe was a loving and caring brother, uncle and friend to many. He is survived by his sister Patricia (James) Robertson, his nephew James II (Tina) Robertson, niece Michelle (Robert) Morgan, great nephew Michael (Katie) Robertson, great niece Ashley Morgan, great nephew Kyle Morgan, and great great nephew Titus Robertson.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday January 16 at Flanner Buchanan -Washington Park North. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 510 North New Jersey Street Indianapolis, IN 46204.
