Joseph Di Candito

July 12, 1928 — February 11, 2018

Noblesville, Indiana

Joseph Raymond (Joe) Di Candito, 89, of Noblesville, IN, lost his battle with prostate cancer at Zionsville Meadows, in the presence of his wife, children, and nephew, on February 11, 2018.

Joe was born on July 12, 1928 in West Warwick, RI to the late Giuseppe and Annunziata (Mancini) Di Candito. He served in the California National Guard and the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, proudly earning the Combat Infantryman Badge in the Korean War.  He met and married Joan Ellen Keron in Los Angeles in 1955. He worked at Rockwell International for 34 years.

Joe will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and his unequaled passions for baseball (specifically, the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers) and politics. He was an avid bowler, traveler, and reader.  He loved the open road and never missed an opportunity to travel or chauffeur friends and family throughout the country. His love for and devotion to his five grandsons and great-grandson were unrivaled and never went unnoticed.

Joe is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan; sons, Raymond Di Candito of Sylmar, CA; and Michael (Lauri) Di Candito of Boulder, CO; daughters, Anne (Tom) Griffin of Roseville, CA; and Mary (Dave) Snow of Zionsville, IN; grandsons, Joe (Kathleen) De Luca of Austin, TX; John Di Candito of Aurora, CO; Stephen Snow of St. Louis, MO; and Austin Snow of Zionsville, IN; great-grandson, Isaac De Luca of Austin, TX; many loving nieces, a nephew, and extended family, including step-granddaughters, Michele Gaston, Erin Griffin, and their families. Joe was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ann Di Candito De Gennaro, and grandson, Matthew David Snow.

A special thank you to the loving staff at Zionsville Meadows for their amazing care and support.

Visitation and Rosary will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Westfield, IN on Friday, February 16th, 2018, with a Funeral Mass at 11:00. A private burial will follow.
