Joseph Dermody

Joseph Dermody, 39, of Carmel passed away May 20, 2022.  He was born September 17, 1982, in Indianapolis, the son of Thomas M. and Margaret “Peggy” (McGinness) Dermody.  He married his high school sweetheart, Jorlena DuPree, on April 9, 2005.

Joe’s family wishes everyone to remember him as he was, an incredibly funny, kind, and loving man who would not hesitate to give the shirt off his back to help. Joe had the ability to build and fix just about anything and the beautiful guitars he built will be cherished by his children forever. While his quick wit was always appreciated, his family equally enjoyed his tremendous culinary skills. Though he didn’t always win the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trophy, he would be thrilled to know his last win makes him the reigning and final turkey master. We ask that family and friends share their memories whenever possible.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Jorlena Dermody; their three children, Brooke, Madelyn, and Jack Dermody; parents, Thomas and Peggy Dermody; sister, Katie Erdmanis; and two nephews, Ryan and Will Foster.
