Joseph David Cathcart

Joseph David Cathcart of Indianapolis entered eternal rest on September 30, 2018 at the age of 56.

Joseph received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis, where he was the quarterback of the football team. He worked at F.A. Wilhelm Construction since 1996 as the Chief Financial Officer.  He was involved in his community including Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Scecina Memorial High School, the University of Indianapolis, Big Brothers Big Sisters, College Mentor for Kids, and the Catholic Youth Organization where he coached youth football for 20 years.  Recently he and his wife Kimberly embarked on a fundraising initiative where they raised a significant amount of money for LLS and Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, where he was treated.  He loved sports including golf. He will be remembered as a generous man who made giving a way of life.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly S. Cathcart; children David Cathcart (Laura), Ryan Cathcart, and Kelly Cathcart; mother Joyce Cathcart; his wife’s children Kali Curry, Taylor Curry, and Allison Curry; siblings Charles Cathcart (Della), Patricia Duncan, Robert Cathcart (Janine), Thomas Cathcart, and William Cathcart; his wife’s sister Monica Patterson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Cathcart.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, October 4 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10^th St, Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
