Johnnie J. Riedling, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away April 15th, 2021. He was born March 26th, 1948 in Fayette County, Kentucky to parents John and Zelma (Baker) Riedling.
John graduated from Arlington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
John owned his own construction company for over 43 years before retiring. He was a valued member of the carpenter’s union.
John was a loving, hardworking gentleman. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and boating. Even after retiring, he insisted on staying busy, tinkering on projects, and spending time with family and friends. He had a passion for taking pictures and videos to capture all his life’s moments.
He is survived by his partner Becky Norris; his children Lonnie Morton, Eric (Jessica) Riedling, Charlee (Brian) Bernard, and Amber Wheeler; grandchildren Allison (Travis) Smith, Kyle Riedling, Olivia Riedling, Lexi Riedling, Keiaura Nelson, Natalie Nelson, Sierra Nelson, Jason Bernard, Bryan Bernard, Annabelle Stallings and Hunter Disman and Skirynn Worsham;; Great-grandchildren Levi Smith, Haiden Smith, and Maci Smith; sister Alberta Sams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Leondra Riedling; his children Johnnie Riedling and Robert Riedling; and his siblings James Harmon and Katherine Spicklemire.
John’s visitation will be Wednesday April 21st, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, 4pm-8pm. His funeral will be Thursday April 22nd, at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
