John “Jack” Sturm

Indianapolis – John “Jack” Sturm (87) passed away February 9, 2018 at Northwest Manor Hospice.
He was the son of the late Ruth & John H Sturm, born November 17, 1930.
He graduated from Elwood High School in 1948, upon graduation he attended Montgomery Junior College and
Butler University.
After college he joined the Navy, serving 2 years as the Chaplin’s assistant.
He worked at General Motors, Allison Transmission for 30 years – retiring in 1987.
He loved to play cards, golf and bowl.
They spent retired summers in Rochester, Indiana on Lake Manitou where he opened a Golf shop.
They were members of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church
He is survived by his wife Joan (Hicks) of 62 years and children, Sandra, Steven (Angela) and John Sturm.
His grandchildren include Jeremy Cales, Kasie Pieri (Dylan), Kylie Swintz (Nick), Megan and Mackenzie Sturm

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 11am-2pm at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Dr Indianapolis, IN 46228. Funeral service will follow at 2pm.
