John R. Sensney, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away January 26th, 2023. He was born in Lyons, Indiana to parents Owen and Mary Sensney.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, aboard the USS Beatty. During his service he was introduced to welding, which ultimately became his trade and profession.
In 1956, John married the love of his life, JoAnne. They raised a family and shared 60 wonderful years together. JoAnne passed away in 2016.
He and JoAnne established their company, Eastside Welding in 1969. John served as the company owner and welder, and still showed up to work every day, even at 96 years old.
John was a strong, hardworking man, with an incredible memory. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working at his shop, and occasionally visiting the casino.
He is survived by his son, Brian Sensney; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; and his brother Perry Sensney.
John is preceded in death by his loving wife, JoAnne; his parents; his son David Sensney; and one grandson.
John will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
