John Revie Paton, Jr.

89, of McCordsville, IN passed away October 15, 2017. John was born in Charlotte, NC on October 17, 1927 to parents, John Revie Paton, Sr. and Maud Pearl (Bunn) Paton. He served his country honorably in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and retired from Chrysler after 32 years. John was a member of the Oaklandon Masonic Lodge, the Murat Shrine and was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed golf, fishing, horses and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie (Moore) Paton; children: John R. “Skip” Paton, III, John F. “Johnny” O’Connor, Jr. (Brenda), Vickie L. Paton, Jill R. Paton-Newerth and Julie R. Paton-Morganti; granddaughters: Molly Hancock (Braylon) and Shelby Paton Newerth; great-granddaughter, Meleah Miller; siblings: Lovell Hill (Boyce); and his beloved dog, Gracie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Vlattas (Phillip) and brother, Robert Paton.

Friends may call from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday, October 19, 2017 and additionally from 12 Noon until 1pm on Friday, October 20th at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. His funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 20th at the funeral center. Burial with military honors will follow services in Washington Park East Cemetery.
