John Lefevers, 62, passed away on February 14, 2023.
He was born on December 30, 1960, in Indianapolis, to Otis and Ruth Lefevers.
John was a 1979 graduate of Southport Highschool and worked for Perry Township for 37 years as the custodial supervisor.
He loved to fish, was known to be a jokester, and enjoyed poker nights and trips to the casino. He was also an avid bowler and founded the Southport Bowling Team, acting as their coach. John never missed a Colts game and loved his doggies. He was also a true family man and adored his granddaughters.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 24 years, Della Lefevers; son, Gary Wiggington II (Lindsay); brother, Daniel Lefevers (Kim); sister-in-law, Lorri Lefevers; granddaughters, Haylie and Alyssa; multiple nieces and nephews from the Lefever side and the Burgess side; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; brother-in-law, John Burgess (Kim); and sisters-in-law, Hazel Burgess and Darlene Branham (Jim).
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Lefevers; and brother-in-law, Bo Burgess.
Funeral service will take place Noon Monday, February 20, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229 with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the same location from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023, and Monday, February 20, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
