John Joseph Bauer

John Joseph Bauer, age 81, of Indianapolis, passed away February 23, 2018. John was born in Indianapolis on May 28, 1936 to the late Walter M. and Margaret V. (Crorkin) Bauer. He later married his beloved wife Sue in 1957.

John was a dedicated US Army Veteran. He enjoyed driving, fishing and was very involved in his church, Post Road Christian Church. He loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Sue Carolyne (Collins) Bauer; children, Bruce Bauer (Leslie), Gregg Bauer and Joanna McQuiston; siblings, Brian Bauer and Thelma Legg; 6 grandsons; 1 great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Helen Reynolds, Norman “Butch” Bauer and Jim Bauer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A graveside service will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
