John "Jack" Clifford Russell

John C Russell

John Clifford Russell, son of Clifford and Charlotte Russell, went to be with the Lord on June 19,2020. He was born in Indianapolis on July 20,1928.

He attended Arsenal Technical High School where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Brinson. They were married September 5,1946.  They were inseparable from then on.   They had two daughters Beverly Ann and Charlotte Sue.  He spent a short time in the US Marines in 1950.  In 1956 he joined the Indianapolis Police Department and served until 1993. He loved to travel and spent several winters in Leesburg Florida.   He was a member  of Englewood Masonic Lodge, Murat Shrine, and Sahara Grotto.

He was a faithful husband for 73 years, a loving Dad and Grandpa.  He leaves behind his wife Elizabeth, daughters Beverly (Mike) Apple and Charlotte (Randy) Barnett; grandchildren Julie Brengard, Jenni (Chip) Ferris, Bryan (Chelsea Glass) Hall, Chris (Myra Lolkema) Hall, Erik (Jessica) Barnett, Sarah Barnett, Rebekah (Sean) Eaton and Abby (Nathan) Pagrysinski; great grandchildren Daniel Brengard, Amanda Brengard, Zach (Sabrina) Ferris, Libby Ferris, Jackson Hall, Lincoln Hall, Mallory Ballard, Veronica Barnett, Arti Barnett, and Rowan Lolkema; great great grandchildren Mirah Brengard and Penelope Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Bess Russell and his grandson James Barnett. He will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will take place on Saturday June 27,2020 at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East from 12:00-1:00 pm with Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made to JDRF at JDRF, PO BOX 37920, Boone IA 50037-0920.
