John H. Duke

John H. Duke, 82, of Indianapolis, IN. passed away on January 18, 2023. John was born in Caraway, Arkansas on July 17, 1940, to Elmer H. and Vivian (Haney) Duke. He served three years in the United States Army from 1962 – 1965. He married his wife Linda C. Duke on October 4, 1969, and they had four children: John, Ronda, Shelly and Gary. He worked 26 years at Naval Avionics/Raytheon and retired March 1, 2002. John had many hobbies including building/flying planes, gun collecting, leather crafting, camping and playing the guitar. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Vivian Duke, his son John M. Duke, sisters Shirley Hubbard and Linda Melick, and his brothers Carl Duke and Elmer “Rick” Duke, Jr.

Surviving John is his wife of 53 years, Linda Duke, his two daughters Ronda K. (David) Casey and Shelly D. (Charlie) Hutchens, and son Gary L. (Stephanie) Moran, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
