John Elmer Wright

85, died on August 6, 2017 after valiantly fighting cancer. John married Ellen Gothard, his wife of nearly 61 years, on August 19, 1956. With degrees from I.U., John was teacher and taught for almost 30 years, most notably junior high at I.P.S. John was a devoted Christian and a member of the Eastside church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, children Mark and Martha (Mike) Mettler, grandsons, Matthew Wright and Max Clark and brother Kenneth. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 1pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E.
