John David Sementa

John David Sementa, 95, of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018.

He was born on February 24, 1923 in Prata, Italy to the late John L. and Marianina T. Sementa.  He immigrated to the US at a young age and grew up in the Philadelphia area.  John was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army Air Corps and worked for 20+ years in the maintenance department for James Roberts School in Indianapolis.  He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Pat) Newton; granddaughter, Amanda Brewer; and great-grandchildren, William Lahr, Jordan M. Phelan, Michael Jay Phelan and Andrew Phelan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.  Burial with military honors will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.  Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
