John Campbell

John W Campbell, age 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on November 20, 2022.  He was born on September 16, 1943 to the late Samuel and Hazel Campbell.  He is survived by a brother, Paul Campbell (91) of Birmingham, Alabama, and a sister, Ruth (Campbell) Sharp (88) of Arlington, Indiana as well as many nieces and nephews.

John loved his work.  He was the President of Campbell Engineering Corporation for 38 years and worked on many large projects including the restoration of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the circle in downtown Indianapolis.  He held a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

He was a kind man with a gentle demeanor.  He grew up on the East side of Indianapolis and loved going to double features at the Irvington Theater with his siblings.  In the last few years, he looked forward to his regular calls with his sister, maintaining his pristine landscaping, and driving his Cadillac.
