John Allen Thurman Ii

February 29, 2000 — December 8, 2019

Indianapolis, Indiana

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of John Thurman II, 19 years old, who tragically left this world to be with God on Sunday, December 8th, around 4am. He is survived by his loving parents, John and Angela Thurman; his sister, Tiffanie Thurman; Brother-in-law, Bryant Manning; nieces, Braylee, Bryanne, and Briella; nephew, Bryant Jr.; grandparents, Bill and Jeanette Thurman, Barb and Jack Shoulders, and Doris Worth; his two very best friends, Bradley Hershberger and Brandon Commander; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Worth and great-grandparents, John and Gladys Thurman. He was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Ben Davis High School, where he graduated from with an honors diploma in 2018.

Most people knew Johnny as a very quiet and shy, but kind, sweet, smart and respectful kid. There isn’t a single person who crossed paths with Johnny that didn’t like him. He was loved by so many and liked by all. Johnny had an amazing work ethic from the time he was 16 and old enough to work, and enjoyed spending his hard-earned money on his cars, especially his Mercedes Benz that he was so proud of. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he loved playing video games and going to car shows with his friends. He was also really interested in German culture and hoped to one day attend college there.

In some aspects, Johnny was a typical teenage boy, but in other ways he was so much more than that. He would make it clear that he was an introvert, however, when he was around the ones he was comfortable with, he let his true colors show and was the complete opposite of that. He was an absolute character and kept his closest friends and family members laughing with his entertaining and good-humored personality. Along with being hysterically funny, Johnny was also highly intelligent and very strong willed, to say the least.

Johnny has left us with so many fond memories and though we only had him for 19 years, he was an absolute blessing to our lives. An amazing son, brother, uncle, friend and coworker, and will be missed deeply by many.
