John Allen Franks, age 67, died on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020 at his home.
Born in Indianapolis, the son of John C. and Maryella Franks, he was a lifelong resident of Central Indiana. He attended Broad Ripple High School and Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.
John was the Encore Delivery Specialist and Fleet Sales Manager at Falcone Automotive, where he had served for 22 years.
John was respected for his volunteer work in the community, and enjoyed serving as a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana for over 12 years. He also spent time as an archery instructor at the YMCA during which time he made a positive difference in the lives of many.
He loved the outdoors and participating in sports, especially racquetball, and treasured sharing his time with his much-loved family, friends and pets.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 30 years, Marie, three children Don Younger (Anne), Jonathan Younger (Peta) and Amy Tennant (Zach), six grandchildren, brothers Dave (Cathy) and Mark (Susan) Franks, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A gathering for family and friends to remember John will be held at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave, Indianapolis, IN, on March 1, 2020 in the afternoon from 1 to 3 o’clock.
