Joanne Lansdell

April 28, 1944 — April 3, 2017

JoAnne (Norton) Lansdell, age 72, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 3, 2017. She was born in Maybeury, West Virginia to Joseph M. and Helen F. Norton on April 28, 1944.

She moved with her family to Indianapolis in 1954 where she attended PS# 54 and Arsenal Technical High School. She married Roy Lansdell on December 27, 1968. They were happily married for 41 years. JoAnne worked at Naval Avionics for several years. She stayed home to raise her family before working in the family owned business, J.R. Lansdell Co., as secretary and bookkeeper. Also, she was the administrative assistant at Kohl’s department store for 10 years until she retired in April 2003. She also served as president of Warren Little League Women’s Auxiliary for several years. Her passions were first and foremost her children and grandchildren as well as traveling with her husband Roy, especially to the Bahamas, Hawaii and Las Vegas.

JoAnne is survived by her children, Julie (Chris) Carroll, Jon R. Lansdell and Joseph R. (Shona) Lansdell II; along with 8 grandchildren, Kelly JoAnne Lenahan, Josh Lenahan, Jordan Kahl, Tyler Lansdell, Jackson Roy Lansdell, Collin Lansdell, Cade Lansdell and Camryn Lansdell; her special niece, Christina (Kerry) Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lansdell; parents; and brothers, Joseph M. Norton, Thomas R. Norton and Don Kozar.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, with a graveside service following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
