Joanne K. North

Joanne K. North, 66 of Noblesville passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022.  Joanne was born June 3, 1955 in Chicago to the late Fritz and Barbara (Johnson) Weitendorf. Joanne was a 1973 graduate of Larkin High School in Elgin, Illinois.

Joanne retired in 2020 as Sr. Vice President of Franchise Support with Decorating Den Interiors after 41 years. She started her career with Decorating Den Interiors as an account manager and over the years her responsibilities grew. Throughout Joanne’s years with Decorating Den she traveled the world and was able to visit many different countries and create cherished memories. Joanne also owned 2 franchises, but most importantly to her, Joanne was able to impact the lives of 100’s of women business owners during her time with the company.

Joanne was a member of White River Christian Church and was a volunteer with the Good Samaritans Network. Every year Joanne looked forward to, and was personally invested in, participating and fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to help support the mission in the fight against breast cancer.

Joanne was a fabulous cook and nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family and friends. Joanne and her husband Jerry enjoyed spending the winter down in Florida where she treasured their morning walks along Barefoot Beach. She also frequently traveled up to Chicago to support her grandsons in their year-round sports schedule just as she did for her daughter Kristi when she was growing up. Her love for family was felt by all and very special.

Joanne was a breast cancer survivor for 16 years after being diagnosed in 2005. She fought cancer on and off and was willing to try anything to beat the disease.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Kristi N. (husband, Matthew) Lantz; grandchildren, Hudson and Griffin; brother, Fritz Weitendorf; dog, Quigley.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 4 at 11:00 am at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, where family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
