Joann (Long) Scott of Zionsville passed away in her home September 27th, surrounded by family. She was born May 26, 1932 in Hicksville, Ohio to Emery and Ruth Long. She graduated from Etna Green High School, Class of 1950. Joann married Gayle “Scotty” Scott on August 22, 1952. After they married, they built a house in Bourbon, Indiana where they lived for 25 years and raised their four children: Tim of Kokomo, Greg (Christine) of Tucson, Steve of Zionsville and Kathy (Dave) Smith of Monrovia. In 1977 Joann & Scotty moved to Zionsville, Indiana where they were active members of New Hope Christian Church. Joann worked at Farmers State Bank which became National City where she retired in 1998. She was always busy helping her family or church in whatever way possible.
Joann is survived by her children and grandchildren: Alison (Justin) Hankins, Lisa Smith, Andrea Smith, David Smith, Danielle (Larry) Moon, Ashley Jean Scott, Ashley Diane (Eric) McCoy & Krystal (Alex) Guerrero. Great grandchildren: Christopher Smith, Zachary Smith, Elias Smith, Draven Smith, Anthony Moon, Jaselynn Moon, Eden Kathleen McCoy, Ashley Anne Moon, and Faith Nicole Hankins. Her brothers: Richard (Donna) Long, Max (Patricia) Long.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Jim Long and Don Long. Also her daughter-in-law Kathleen Nifong Scott and great-grandchildren Hope Hankins and Benjamin Edward Hankins.
Services: 5:00PM Thursday, October 7, at New Hope Christian Church, Whitestown, Indiana.
Graveside Services: 3:00PM Friday, October 8, Etna Green, Indiana.
Visitation will be held at New Hope Christian Church beginning at 3:00PM to the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church, Whitestown, Indiana.
