Joann Marie Schlomer

JoAnn Marie (Turcotte) Schlomer, 77, passed away January 31, 2022, in Avon, IN. She was born December 18, 1944, in Harvey, ND to Omer & Doris (Steffen) Turcotte.

On November 4, 1966, she married Delvin C Schlomer in Moses Lake, WA. After marrying they lived in Moses Lake, WA; Mobridge, SD; Clinton, IN; Jasonville, IN; Terre Haute, IN and most recently Plainfield, IN.

JoAnn was a member of the Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church in Terre Haute, IN for over 35 years, as well as Living Christ Lutheran Church in Plainfield, IN. She was also a member of Tri-Kappa.

Professionally, JoAnn was a librarian and cafeteria manager at Shakamak High School, Jasonville, IN and previously had an in-home daycare.

JoAnn is survived by her sisters Carol (Jerry) Hart of Moses Lake, WA, Linda (Keith) McNeely who are traveling missionaries, Beverly (Larry) Hastings of Ephrata, WA, Laura Turcotte of Farmingham, MA, and Alice (Neil) Brooks of Moses Lake, WA; brothers Don (Carla) Turcotte of Moses Lake, WA, John (Linda) Turcotte of Moses Lake, WA, and Richard (Nakiea) Turcotte of Wichita Falls, TX; sons Gary (Kathy) Schlomer and Cody (Kim) Schlomer; granddaughters Sarah (Nick) Thurman, Kelsey Schlomer, Amber Schlomer, Paige Schlomer, and Mackenzie Schlomer; grandsons Drake (fiancé Brittany Marsh) Schlomer and Damon Schlomer; great-grandchildren Kale Sternhagen, Colten Thurman, and Adelyn Stegura. She was preceded in death by her parents Omer and Doris Turcotte, sister Janice Foltz, brother Larry Turcotte, and granddaughter Rylee Thurman.

The family invites friends and guests for a memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, in Terre Haute, IN. A private burial will take place at West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
