Joann C. Cotterman was born on August 4, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Raymond and Lottie Davenport.

Joann attended Tech High School and then completed her Associates degree. She worked a variety of jobs  while raising her four sons and one daughter. Her latest and most rewarding job  was being a retail clerk in her daughter and son-in-law’s Christian book store. Joann loved to read! She enjoyed many genres of books ranging from mystery to Christian titles.  When Joann was not reading she was tending to her flourishing flower garden, which she would replant and rearrange on a regular basis. Joann loved any flower that was in season! She loved all animals and has had several dogs and cats.  In her free time, she enjoyed hiking, boating, and fishing. She also volunteered at Westview Hospital and the Marion County Guardian’s Home.    Joann was a member of North Central Church of Christ, and appreciated her friends there.

Joann was preceded in death by: her parents, Raymond and Lottie Davenport; son, Michael Phillabaum;

She is survived by:  Her brother Bill Davenport ; her loving children, Milan (Melinda) Phillabaum, Eric (Margaret Scott) Phillabaum, David (Brenda ) Phillabaum, Marcy (LaRue ) Bennett, MaryAnn (Mike’s wife); nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many friends.
