Joann A. McKay

89, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 1, 2017. Joann was born on March 16, 1927 in Russellville, KY to the late Halford P and Lois I (Robinson) Ellis. Joann owned and operated Joann’s Beauty Salon for many years. Additionally, she was also a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene, a leader and motivational speaker for Weight Watchers, a member of the Sweet Adelines Music Group and served as a Lay Minister and was on the Board of Directors of The Unity Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond “Jake” McKay. She is survived by her daughter Joanna Meyer, son Wayne McKay and wife Denice, sister Judy James and a granddaughter Erin Meyer. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8pm and Thursday one hour prior to the service at Flanner and Buchanan- Floral Park, with services Thursday at 12noon in the funeral center. Burial will follow the services in Floral Park Cemetery.
