Joan Lugene Mccreary

Joan Lugene (Green) McCreary, 66 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away July 23, 2022, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 18, 1956, in Connersville, Indiana to Donald B. and Phyllis (Timberman) Green. Following high school and vocational school she began working as a Geological Drafter and later worked with FedEx as an Equipment Specialist where she worked 22 years. Joan married her high school sweetheart, Jan, and spent many years together working and traveling before their two children were born. She enjoyed reading historical non-fiction books, collecting antiques, traveling, hiking, gardening, and especially loved spending time with her family. She always tried to make sure her children learned one new thing every day and passed that down to her grandson when she would visit him. Joan would spend as much time as possible with him to instill her love for nature, animals, and would read to him at their many sleepovers they had over the short years they were together. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joan is survived by her loving husband, Jan R. McCreary, her children, Morgan McCreary, Caitlin Green, grandson, Octavian Green, mother, Phyllis Green, sister, Lisa Green and her husband, Rick Faris. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald B. Green. Services for Joan will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, 12:00pm, at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township 5463 Kentucky Ave. Indianapolis, IN with visitation there from 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at the Orange North Cemetery, Orange, Fayette County, Indiana with a graveside service there at 3:00pm.
