Joan Skiles

Joan E. Skiles (McElfresh), 55, passed away on February 4, 2017 after a seventeen year battle with the rare cancer, Leiomyosarcoma. Her battle never held her back as her life was filled with travel, family, trips to the casino, and being the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, and Nana. She was a 1979 graduate of George Washington High School, Indianapolis. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Charles McElfresh and Edith McElfresh (Hill). She is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Robbie D. Skiles, three daughters Bridget, Emily, and Theresa King, three step-daughters Bridget Cox, Amie Gardner, and Erica Skiles, seven grandchildren, and her siblings Charles “Butch” and Uschi McElfresh, Mary Jo Turner, Marlene “Sis” Buntin, John and Trudy McElfresh, Margaret “Peggy” McElfresh, Larry and Kathy Abney, Cindy Ortiz, and Janie McElfresh.
