Joan Carol Baker (Robbins), 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away February 12, 2018. She was born June 16, 1933 to Frank and Esther Robbins in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Joan was a Ben Davis Class of 1951 graduate. She went on to work as a banking officer for Indiana National Bank, where she took an early retirement from at the age of 54. She was married to the late Ron Baker for 26 years before his passing in 2007. Family describes Joan as a stubborn yet loving woman who enjoyed old movies, musicals, and reading. She was also known to partake in square dancing and puzzle books to occupy her time. Joan also had a special love for all things Mickey Mouse.
Joan is predeceased by her parents; husband, Ron Baker; daughter, Debra Ann Duggan; sister Juanita Stutz. Surviving to cherish her memory are daughter, Denise (Brian) Smith; brother, Keith Robbins; granddaughter, Cassandra Smith; nieces, Pam Lowell and Karen Dowell.
Family and friends may visit Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 3-7 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Services will take place Monday, February 19 at 10 AM. Burial will take place at Floral Park Cemetery following services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The American Cancer Society or the Leukemia Society.
