Jim Switzer

Jim Switzer, 91 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018. He was born on January 19, 1927 in Montgomery County near Waynetown to the late Clifford and Florence Switzer.

Jim moved to Indianapolis as a young man and graduated from Ben Davis High School Class of 1945. He married his beloved Julia on June 14, 1947. They were married until her passing in 2007. He started his work career with Kraft Foods and retired from Industrial Belting Supply in Grand Rapids.

In their golden years, Jim and Julie enjoyed living in Brownsburg, IN and attending Clermont Christian Church.

Jim was preceded in passing by his loving wife of 59 years, Julia Switzer; his brother, Gene Switzer of West Lafayette, IN; and his grandson, John Tolson.

He is survived by his children, Linda (Ray) Harden, Mike (Liz) Switzer, Sharon (Kelly) Nichols, and Terri Tolson; his grandchildren, Greg (Jessie) Harden, Kelly (Chris) Wann, Jamie (Shawn) Deer, Michael Switzer, Hannah Switzer, Kristen (Andy) Spurgeon, Elizabeth Nichols, Julie (Jeff) Huffman, Dustin (Jennifer) Scott, and Emily (Chad) Baldwin; his great grandchildren, Lake, Lily, Levin, Simone, Levi, Taylor, Avery, Marissa, Madison, Marlee Jo, Murphy, Natalie, Riley, Charlie, and Annie James; and his sister, Lois Foltz.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 3-7PM. Service will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway at 10AM. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens.
