Jesse “Chico” Quiroz, 92, of Indianapolis passed away on July 18, 2022. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana on March 22, 1930, to parents, Vicente Quiroz and Vicenta Arauza. Jesse dutifully served his country in the United Sates Army from 1951-1954 during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1993. He was a proud member of Little Flower Catholic Church, where he helped serve as an usher until recent years. Chico was also a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., UAW local 23, Knights of Columbus, 82nd Airborne Association, Hispanic American Airborne Association, Korean War Association, and the Indiana Guard Reserve. Chico loved to travel. He and his wife, Consuelo, took many amazing trips.
Chico is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Consuelo Espinoza Quiroz; his beloved children, Maria (Steven) Southwood; Gloria (Jeffrey) Pavlik; and Jesse Jr.; his grandchildren, Mya Southwood, Maria Pavlik, and Peter Pavlik as well as adopted grandchildren Landon and Luke Mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Benny Quiroz; his siblings Juanita Oliva, Guadalupe Santos and Socorro Quiroz.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 4-8PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day at 10AM at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E 13th Street. Chico will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
