On Tuesday, October 9th, 2019, Jerry Lee Harvey Jr., supportive husband and encouraging father of two children, passed away at the age of 40.
Jerry was born on November 1st, 1978 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Jerry Lee and Deborah Kay (Evans) Harvey. He worked for Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. for 10 years. On March 5th, 2004 he married Brandi Lu Powell. They raised one daughter and one son, Jesica and Ryan.
Jerry had a passion for hunting. Deer hunting season was his Christmas. He would make deer jerky and share it with family and friends each year. Along with hunting, Jerry also relished in gardening. Growing peppers, green beans, and cucumbers, and other pickling plants were his domain. He would pickle and can the vegetables to share with all. Jerry was the biggest Colts’ fan to walk this earth. He was continually supportive of the Colts on and off game day – 110%. Jerry always supported and encouraged his children with their love and passion for marching band and color guard.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brother Charles E. Harvey. Jerry is survived by his wife Brandi Harvey (Powell) and children Jesica Overstreet and Ryan Harvey; parents, Jerry L. and Deborah (Evans) Harvey; siblings, Jennifer L. Harvey and Christopher P. Harvey; grandparent, Demetrica (Stephanoff) Harvey; and nieces and nephews, Jacob Huskey, Austin, Samantha and Brandon Allen.
Memorial donations in memory of Jerry will be received for the family on the day of the service.
Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 10:00am-12:00pm with a Memorial Service at 12:00pm in Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Dr. Indianapolis.
